The Association of Virginia Audiologists (AVA) has experienced incredible momentum since its founding. What began as a conversation at the October 2024 Ruth Symposium quickly grew into a collaborative effort, with a broader group shaping the organization’s name and mission by October 2025. By December 2025, AVA had formalized its foundation with bylaws and incorporation, followed by the installation of its first volunteer board in January 2026. Just one month later, AVA proudly welcomed its first members.

Today, AVA is excited to celebrate a major milestone—reaching 100 members! This moment reflects the strong community forming around a shared purpose. AVA extends special congratulations to Rebecca Beckman, the 100th member, who received an Earigator Video Otoscope as a thank you for being part of this milestone.

Guided by a mission to advance audiology in Virginia through advocacy, education and professional collaboration, AVA is committed to supporting audiologists and improving patient care across the Commonwealth. The organization promotes best practices, ethical standards and ongoing education while advocating for the profession’s role in delivering high-quality hearing and balance care.

As AVA continues to grow, membership offers opportunities to connect with peers, access continuing education and help shape the future of audiology in Virginia. Interested in joining? Visit the membership page to learn more and become part of our community.
