The Association of Virginia Audiologists strives to advance our profession through advocacy, education and collaboration. We promote best practices and the highest ethical standards to ensure current patients receive excellent care and to create a solid foundation for the future of audiology.
Initial interest in forming a group was gauged at the October 2024 Ruth Symposium, and discussion continued through the following year. In December 2025, our bylaws and articles of incorporation were written. Our first volunteer board was installed in January 2026, and we accepted our first board member the following month.

Mission
Our mission is to advance the profession of audiology in the Commonwealth of Virginia through advocacy, education and professional collaboration.
Vision
1. Foster a community for audiologists within the Commonwealth of Virginia.
2. Advocate for legislation that is reflective of our scope of practice and consistent with a clinical doctoring profession.
3. Promote best practices to ensure the highest quality of hearing and balance care, while preserving the highest ethical standards and conduct.
4. Provide continuing education that meets the current and future needs of our profession.
