Dr. Crystal Amantea specializes in hearing aids and tinnitus. She entered the audiology field because of her grandfather, who developed noise-induced hearing loss while working in the engine room of a Navy ship during World War II. Seeing the difference that hearing care made in his life inspired her to pursue a career helping others communicate with the people who matter most to them.
Dr. Amantea focuses on building patient trust in a supportive, non-pressured environment. She believes in educating patients about their options and empowering them to make the decision that feels right for them. No two patients are the same, and by listening carefully to each individual, she makes personalized recommendations that best support their hearing needs and lifestyle.
Dr. Amantea’s greatest professional accomplishment has been the successful re-launch of The Hearing Center at Virginia Eye Institute, resulting in significant growth of our patient base by building on the trust and credibility Virginia Eye Institute has established over its 50-year history.
Outside of work, she can be found spending time with her husband and three children. They especially enjoy participating in community events and outdoor activities.
