Dr. Melissa Garber is the Clinical Education Coordinator for the Doctor of Audiology program at James Madison University. She has been at JMU since 2017 and has been a licensed audiologist in Virginia since 2005.
At JMU, she is involved in direct patient care at the JMU Audiology Clinic, clinical and classroom teaching and clinical mentoring of Au.D. students both on and off campus. This role keeps her in constant communication with future audiologists and clinical preceptors across the state and nation. It was through many of these interactions that she began to see the need for a strong centralized state organization for audiologists in the Commonwealth of Virginia. She is excited to serve as the immediate past president after almost two years of discussion, research and legwork to facilitate the formation of AVA.
Dr. Garber lives in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley with her husband and is the mom of four amazing children. If you have even considered becoming a clinical preceptor, she would love to talk with you!
