The Association of Virginia Audiologists (AVA) is proud to announce its formation as a new, independent professional organization created by and for audiologists in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
AVA was established with a clear purpose: to advance, protect and advocate for the profession of audiology at the state level—now and into the future.
The practice of audiology is evolving rapidly. Licensed audiologists in Virginia face an increasingly complex landscape that includes:
- Changes to CPT coding and reimbursement
- Growing influence of third-party administrators
- Modernizing our scope of practice
- The expansion of over-the-counter (OTC) hearing aids
- Emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence
Amid these changes, a strong, unified voice for Virginia audiologists has never been more important.
AVA is committed to serving as your primary source for state-level advocacy, timely information and professional representation. Our mission is to ensure that audiologists, rather than outside interests, help shape the policies, regulations and systems that affect our profession and our patients.
